Let's Talk About: Designing Products for Women

Women-focused ventures continue to be sidelined by funders and other startup enablers — despite serving a powerful consumer market. 💁🏻‍♀️

Building products and solutions for women has meant confronting so many biases. Also, consider this: What happens when we finally give women equitable opportunities and unlock the potential of a women-driven economy?

If women’s needs continue to lack attention and solutions in ecosystem and economic conversations, whole markets get left behind.

This roundtable is a space to unpack these real barriers and potential breakthroughs.

Designing with women in mind isn’t just about fairness; it drives breakthrough innovation, stronger communities, and a more impactful future!

We revisited the beginnings of the PH startups, and took a tour of the milestones leading us to where we are today. With older, more experienced startup players joined by newer enablers, founders, and champions, we had a rich, dynamic discussion that revealed how much collaboration, connectivity, and support systems matter in growing our startups, and the ecosystem at large.

We got real about what it actually takes to build sustainable, heart-led businesses. From negotiating fair value to confronting self-doubt, we unpacked the mental, emotional, and financial weight of doing this work. Vulnerable, meaty, and empowering—this wasn’t your usual networking format. It was a space where lived experience met tactical insight, and our community showed up hard.

Fundraising Barriers and Breakthroughs

Fundraising has a way of stripping things down to what really matters. Doubt on one side, conviction on the other. We’re often changing things up as quickly as feedback and insights come at us — whether we’re ready for them or not. Perhaps we need to look at fundraising success not as a finish line, but as a story of pivots, pauses, and “raise different” resilience.
